It's time to linkup with the quarter's finishing goals. After a dismal Q4 (ZERO finishes!), I'm back and ready to take on the world! I'm feeling ultra productive and focused, so here we go! #1 Barn Door Quilt Along This is my newest project and it is already a fast favorite. This is a baby quilt for my aunt and if I stick to the quilt along schedule, I'll be done around the end of February, just in time for her baby shower. #2 Picnic Quilt My oldest WIP. This is the first quilt I've … [Read more...]
Barn Door QAL – Week 1 Progress
Here's my progress for the first week of the barn door qal. It took a few tries with the seam ripper to get things lined up but I'm really liking the direction this is going. Lack of light and crummy weather makes me do crazy things... like pretend my quilt is a wall hanging. Actually, it would be a pretty cool wall hanging. I was all jazzed to work on this again tonight, but our power is out so I'm sitting in a coffee shop, drinking sugary things and checking my email way … [Read more...]
Sunday Stash | 01
I'm excited to be linking up to the Sunday Stash for the first time! Last week I found out I won a giveaway for fabric from Pink Chalk Fabrics (Thanks to them and Kitchen Table Quilting!). I have no patience, so I picked out fabrics right away! Since Pink Chalk is located in my home state of WA, I had the fabric in my hands two days later (wahoo!)! I have been really wanting to add some more solids to my stash and a fun way to do it is with Pink Chalk's solid scrap packs. It's funny because … [Read more...]
Quilt Project Organizer Freebie
One of my hopes for the new year is to stay more organized and on top of my projects. It's easy to let WIPs slip into the great unknown when they aren't right in front of your face. In an effort to be better, I created this adorable (super adorable even?! ;)) desktop wallpaper to help keep projects organized. Here it is on my computer desktop: I make a folder for each of my projects and then put them in order of priority. As I complete a step, I move the folder. This way I can see at a … [Read more...]
WIP Wednesday: Barn Door Quilt Along!
This week starts the Barn Door Quilt Along over at Sarah Quilts! I am so excited about this one! Here's my fabric for it. I was really inspired by the blues & greens from Sarah's selection. I am so in love with the railroad stripes but I can't decide if I should use them in the strips, for part of the top & bottom panels, or maybe just for the binding? What do you think? Here's the color mockup of what the center portion will look like: I just found out my Aunt (more … [Read more...]
2013 Quilt Scrapbook Blocks
Happy New Year all! I suppose I'm a few days late with that, but I'm gonna roll with it. I'm not usually one to make resolutions, but I do see the year ahead as being full of clarity, energy, and newness. The past year has been the hardest of my life and although this might sound kind of trite, quilting has really helped bring me though it. There were many days where I would just lock my door and retreat into a time of peaceful repetition. Meeting all of you and really starting to engage with … [Read more...]
