It's time to move on to the back of the picnic quilt! I've been collecting used jeans for a while to use for the back and I am so glad to be at the point where I'm ready to put them to use! I thought it would be cool to have "before" pictures of the pile of jeans and then, when it's done, take an "after" photo what they become. I spent most of yesterday afternoon chopping these up. I debated using scissors vs. my rotary cutter but I found scissors worked better for me. But I … [Read more...]
WIP Wednesday: Board Games!
Earlier this week, I took all the pieces of my picnic quilt out to my "design wall". So close to being a completed top! I just received my shipment of Essex linen in Flax to use for the middle section. I think it will give it a nice break from the busyness of the top and bottom panels. And I finally decided on the third game board! Actually, I let my husband pick and he decided on a game I had never heard of before, Nine Men's Morris. WIP Wednesday: Return of the Picnic Quilt
I had to search WAY back in the archives to find a post about this Picnic Quilt. It has long been in my head and I've been intimidated by it. Barn Door Quilt Finish
Before I show you the boor door quilt, I want to send a huge thanks to Sarah from Sarah Quilts for hosting this quilt along. Her design was amazing and I had a blast creating it! If you are looking for new project inspiration you should definitely check out her blog. When I was walking around to find a location for this quilt's photoshoot, I realized that this barn door has the same lines. So of course, I started off the pictures there. This is the first quilt I've quilted without … [Read more...]
My Big (Little) Announcement
It has been much much much too long since I've blogged, but I have an exciting reason for being away... I'm pregnant! This is an announcement I made that got vetoed. But since this is my blog, I thought I'd share it here :) Apparently pregnancy is really hard and I've been on the couch for the last 3ish months. It was a strange thing to be so engrossed in quilting and then one day just be totally unable to do it or even think about it. It's been so hard to be away from all of you … [Read more...]
