I haven’t made any sewing progress since last Wednesday, but I did make some shopping progress (and sometimes, isn’t that just as fun? :)).
My husband and I celebrated our 7th anniversary with a trip to Coeur d’Alene over the weekend. I had just purchased a copy of Simplify by Camille Roskelley, so I brought that with me to read. I really enjoyed looking through it and it had a few projects I’ll be adding to my list.
I talked my husband into taking me to the local quilt shop there called Bear Paw Quilting. It was in a cool lodge style building and there was a ton of fabric. I’ve been wanting to add more solids to my collection because I’m really drawn to solid quilts, but it’s so hard to buy them online (should probably just invest in a color card). Anyway, they had a ton of Kona and Moda solids so I picked out a few I liked (I believe they are all Kona… coral, grey (I think charcoal), and an off whitey color… yah should probably start paying more attention to their names). I’m really excited to start a project with them.
While at the quilt shop, I also found the perfect fabric for binding the baby quilt for my cousin. Isn’t just the sweetest?
I also finally got my walking foot in the mail. I have NO clue how to change the foot on my machine. I’m going to tackle that project tomorrow. With any luck, next week’s post will be of the finished quilt!
The quilt has to be ready by Friday because I go to deliver it on Saturday, so fingers crossed everything goes well. 🙂
